Digital education

From the first responsible clicks to real skills useful for employment.

About the programme

The digital world is no longer a “bonus”. It is where school happens, where jobs are sought, where state forms are filled in, where you talk to a family doctor. Children who grow up without anyone to guide them through this landscape gradually fall behind — even if they have a phone in their hand and know how to open TikTok.

The digital-education programme starts from the actual basics: what an account is, how to create a strong password, how to recognise a phishing message, how to search responsibly online, how to write an email. Then we grow gradually — towards useful skills: the Office suite, simple design tools (Canva), managing a CV, the first steps in coding for those interested.

How it works

  • Age-banded modules — fundamentals for children aged 8-11, applied skills for 12-15, pre-employability for 16-18.
  • Weekly sessions in small groups (4-6 children per workshop), on laptops or shared devices.
  • Volunteers from IT who bring practical experience, not theoretical manuals.
  • Hands-on, not lecture — each session has a small project with a visible result.

Who it serves

Children and teenagers who, without support, would remain passive consumers of content and would not be able to use digital tools to open opportunities for themselves.

How you can get involved

  • As an IT volunteer — if you work in tech and can spare one or two sessions a month, apply. We do not require you to be a trainer — only patience and availability.
  • As a company partner — equipment donations (refurbished laptops, tablets) or full module sponsorship are direct forms of involvement. Details on Partners.
  • As a donor — a working school laptop for a child costs around 300 EUR. Support us.
