Valori de Bine Association

For children who do not have, around them, the adults to support them.

We work alongside children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds — children left without their parents' support, raised by grandparents or in the child-protection system. Through our programmes we offer them educational support, mentors who stay by their side, hands-on workshops and meetings with professionals who help them discover opportunities and build their future with confidence.

Who we are

A community of people alongside children

Children and volunteers from the Valori de Bine community

"Every child deserves normality, education, support and simple joys — the things that bring safety, confidence and beauty into their life."

We are an association dedicated to children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds — children left without their parents' support, raised by grandparents or in the child-protection system.

We work through five directions that complement each other: education, health, vocation, joys and community. We want to build around each child steady, coherent support, not just isolated interventions.

In practice, that means a child helped with homework, a teenager talking to a mentor about their future, a medical check-up done in time, a workshop where a child finds the courage to say "I did it!", or a meeting with a professional who shows them that there are several possible paths in life.

Our mission

A moment from Valori de Bine’s work

For children from vulnerable backgrounds, we build the contexts of growth they would not otherwise have: an adult who listens, a tutoring session, a meeting with a professional who shows them a new path. We work long-term, not in campaigns.

"Before a child can launch their first paper plane, they need someone to sit beside them and show them how to fold it."

Where children start, and what we build

Many of the children we work with start from gaps other children never encounter. Our role is to turn these gaps, step by step, into support, confidence and the natural experiences of childhood.

Where children start

  • Separation from family or the loss of a parent
  • Limited access to educational support and learning resources
  • Low confidence in their own abilities
  • A lack of positive role models and trusted adults
  • Few of childhood's natural experiences: birthdays, outings, camps

What we build together

  • Steady guidance and support from people who stay close
  • Safe relationships with committed adults and volunteers
  • Mentoring, career orientation and positive role models
  • Workshops that grow confidence, skills and curiosity
  • Childhood's natural moments: birthdays, outings, toys and camps

The context we work in

For many vulnerable children, the road to a better future begins with access to education. But not all of them have the chance to go to school, to be encouraged or to receive support when they need it. That is why timely intervention can make the difference.

Our values

Dignity

The children and young people we work with are not "cases". They are people with names, stories, needs and potential. We treat them with respect and build our programmes starting from what matters to them.

Consistency

We believe change is built over time. A mentor who is present month after month can mean more to a child than a single beautiful experience.

Transparency

We honour the trust our partners and donors place in us. We communicate openly about our activities, the results we achieve and how we use resources.

Responsibility

We choose to invest in programmes that answer real needs and can have long-term impact. We believe lasting change is built through patience, involvement and relationships of trust.

Our story

From homework support to programmes built around children's needs

From the first tutoring sessions, alongside the children

The story of Valori de Bine began in 2020, during the pandemic, with hours of homework support for children who had fallen behind at school.

Working alongside them consistently, we understood that their needs go beyond homework help or occasional support. Children need continuity, encouragement, guidance and adults they can rely on.

After five years spent close to children, in April 2025 the Valori de Bine Association was officially founded in Bucharest. We started without funding, but with great dedication and the wish to build programmes that give children real, steady support adapted to their needs.

What comes next

We grow carefully, step by step, at the pace that lets us preserve the quality and continuity of the support we give each child. Together with our volunteers and partners, we aim to:

  1. 01

    Now

    In progress

    Strengthen what we have built

    • Steady educational support for the children already in our programmes
    • Programmes that are better organised and adapted to their needs
  2. 02

    Over the next 2 years

    Planned

    Grow with care

    • More children and young people supported
    • Partnerships that sustain regular activities
    • More learning materials and experiences
  3. 03

    Long term

    Vision

    Build a stable model

    • Education, mentoring and career guidance for more and more children and young people
    • Steady support that carries on from one year to the next

Our vision

Every child growing up in a vulnerable background deserves the same real options as a child growing up in a family with resources — not because they were "rescued", but because they had, alongside them, adults who showed them what they could choose.

For these stories we carry on

I want to become a pastry chef, but I don’t know if there will be money for school… but when I come to the workshops, something lights up in me and I remember that maybe there is a chance.

I’m preparing for the national exams. The support I receive helps me learn, have more confidence in myself and understand better what I want to do next.

For the first time in my life, I had a birthday party. I was so happy that I could spend it with my friends here.

What we do, concretely

Our programmes

Our programmes complement each other and respond to the needs of children from vulnerable backgrounds, at different stages of their lives. We offer steady support and continuity, not just one-off activities.

Who we work with

We don't work alone. Every programme grows alongside partners, professionals and volunteers who give time, resources, experience and opportunities to children.

Ambassadors and volunteers

People who give their time and experience to be alongside children at homework, workshops and guidance meetings. Each of them can open a path a child wouldn't have discovered on their own.

of resources, straight to children

Where resources go

Almost everything we receive goes straight to children.

We have no paid staff and no salary costs. Our trainers, mentors and volunteers give their time, knowledge and personal resources — from laptops, phones and work tools to materials, supplies and transport for workshops. This is how we keep administrative costs to a minimum: in 2025, 99% of financial resources went straight to children — for learning, workshops, materials and simple but meaningful experiences.
