The joys of childhood

We bring joy as something normal into every child's life, through simple gestures that become beautiful memories: a birthday, a book, a trip, a summer camp.

About the programme

The programme grew out of our direct work with children, when we understood that support is not only lessons, homework or educational activities. Sometimes, for a child, support also means a birthday celebrated, a book received at the right moment, a complete school bag, an outing or, simply, the feeling that someone thought of them.

In many children’s lives, these things happen naturally, within the family. For children in vulnerable situations, however, such moments are often missing or happen very rarely. That is why, through this programme, we bring children one step closer to normality — responding to concrete needs and simple wishes, wherever we identify a real need.

What we do, concretely

  • Birthdays, cakes and small celebrations — for many children, the first party of their own.
  • Books, school supplies, gifts and learning materials, offered at the right moment.
  • Recreational outings, trips and summer camps — natural experiences of childhood that many children rarely have access to.
  • Targeted support when a child needs attention, care and encouragement.
  • The Wish Tree — a recurring initiative, organised every December, through which children’s Christmas wishes are collected and fulfilled with the support of volunteers, donors and partners.

Impact so far

  • 20+ children supported through responses to concrete needs and moments of normality
  • 50+ children took part in creative workshops and recreational activities
  • 50+ books offered to children in our support community
  • The Wish Tree — a recurring initiative, organised every December
  • 80+ hours of volunteer involvement in coordination, logistics and direct support

This support came from partners, publishers, volunteers and individual donors — both through material donations (books, supplies, gifts, cakes) and through time dedicated to preparation and direct support for the children.
